“De’Ann shared a story with me that inspired me to capture the memory in a painting. She told me after the death of a kitten she loved — in the moment of saying goodbye forever — a sacred light appeared in the room, radiating warmth in its heart, as if an angel had just appeared. It’s also for this reason that I painted that beautiful vision for De’Ann, in memory of her beloved kitty, to always keep nearby, and in honor of all the pets she rescues and cares for today. My hope is that when others see the painting, they will also remember that animals have and share love just like us and should be protected as precious.”

More about Thoa Vuong

Thoa Vuong, born in Saigon, Vietnam in 1967, escaped the aftermath of the Vietnam War with her family by boat in 1979, eventually finding freedom in the United States. As the youngest of nine siblings, Thoa’s family faced challenges, including her oldest brother’s capture by the VC and subsequent imprisonment for seven years. Through her mother’s courage and resourcefulness, the family was reunited in America.

Thoa’s passion for art emerged at a young age and flourished as she continued her education in the United States, eventually earning degrees in fashion, graphic, and digital art design. Beyond formal education, she honed her skills in various mediums, including oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, airbrushing, and sculpting. Today, Thoa extends her artistic expertise to services like scalp micropigmentation and microblading, striving to deliver the highest quality artwork and services to her clients.
